In paper 4, Rhiannon and I are addressing the issue of anorexia. Our audience will be young women. We will create an inspirational poster/display board with quotes and things to let the young women know that they are fine the way they are. We will also have a brochure with the health risks to let them know exactly what they are doing to their bodies. We hope to change the minds of young women that are currently anorexic, and to prevent ones that have allowed to thought of anorexia to cross their minds. Hopefully we will be able to find true stories of women that have suffered anorexia to tell about how they overcame it.

  1. Don't set your sights too high. I think that either one would be an excellent text to create. If you decide to only create a poster, be careful of your use of images. If you have a target audience of pro-annas--and you use images of pro-annas, they will find these images beautiful. Now someone like you and Rhiannon understand that this is beautiful. If you still go this route...what you can do is explore why pro-annas find it beautiful. What can it do to their bodies? What are the health risks involved? Why do others such as you and I see these images as disempowering to women?

  2. I like your topic choice. I am unfamiliar with anorexia, I mean I know what it is, but I don't really hear anything about it. I like the message you are going for about people needing to be happy with thrmselves and realize they look fine.
